What Makes This US History Curriculum Special?

Practical Applications

History class is only valuable if it can be applied. Every topic and lesson will be directly connected to the learner. We study the past to make sense of the present and plan for the future- connecting the dots on how to do this is a core aspect of my class.

Heterodox Perspective

My curriculum encourages students to explore a wide range of viewpoints, ideologies, and historical interpretations. By presenting multiple perspectives, we can foster critical thinking and help students develop their own informed opinions.

Critical Thinking Skills

I prioritize and foster the development of critical thinking skills through thoughtful analysis of primary and secondary sources. Students will learn to evaluate evidence, consider context, and engage in rigorous historical inquiry.

Bipartisan Analysis

I recognize the importance of understanding historical events from a bipartisan standpoint. I strive to present balanced accounts that provide insights into both conservative and liberal perspectives, promoting understanding and fostering respectful dialogue.

Historical Accuracy

When it comes to history - accuracy is crucial! My curriculum has been developed over nearly two decades in very diverse school environments and is meticulously researched and continually updated to ensure that it reflects the most current historical scholarship.

Viewpoint Diversity

I believe in embracing diverse perspectives to enrich students' understanding of history. My curriculum includes the voices and experiences of people from various backgrounds, races, genders, and socioeconomic statuses, ensuring a more inclusive and holistic narrative.
